A crime scene has been set up after the seven-week-old boy was found unresponsive at a home on Saturday morning.

Police are investigating the death of a seven-week-old baby boy at a home in Sydney’s western suburbs.

A crime scene has been set up at the home on Stanley Street in St Marys, near Penrith, after emergency services responded to a report the baby was unresponsive about 4.15am on Saturday. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the infant before transporting him to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He could not be revived.A report will be prepared for the coroner.
