Police chase ends with arrest after truck missing a wheel seen driving dangerously on M1

A dramatic chase has ended with a man being arrested, after a truck — with a missing a front wheel — was allegedly driving dangerously and swerving at other cars along the M1 in south-east Queensland.

The heavy vehicle was tracked by police helicopter as it passed over the NSW border into Queensland just after 1pm, heading north along the highway for over an hour. Police said the driver was travelling at speed, allegedly weaving in and out of lanes, causing damage to other cars.The truck and trailer came to a stop at Staplyton around 2:08pm, where police swarmed the man, taking him into custody.
