Protesters have stormed the 72nd hole at the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship just as leaders Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim were about to decide the tournament. World No.1 Scheffler had a one-shot lead over Kim at 22-under par heading into the 18th at TPC River Highlands when green invaders rushed down from the gallery onto the putting surface.
Protesters storm onto the 18th green at Travelers Championship. They were quickly apprehended by police, but not before they managed to release a powdery substance onto the green. There were at least five rogue members of the crowd who ran onto the green. Fortunately for the two leaders, the powder dropped did not affect their putting lines. But it was directly in that of Akshay Bhatia, who was also playing in the final grouping.
