A power pole has been installed in the middle of a bike path in Adelaide's northern suburbs, sparking safety concerns from cyclists and bemusement from others.A cyclist notified a councillor about it on FridaySA Power Networks, which put the stobie pole in, says it will fix the path to go around the obstacle this week but only after publicity over the weekend criticising its placement.
"On top of that, the loose gravel used to traverse around it can be mushy and slippery under wet conditions."Mr Buchanan had a look at it over the weekend and posted about it on Facebook yesterday alongside the message "You had one job".
A second pole is next to the path — rather than in the middle of it — but has a fence around it that also blocks the bikeway. He was unsure when the pole had been installed but said its location was chosen in consultation with the City of Salisbury council.
Someone just didn’t give a shit, and did it anyway. Pole in path, path over pole, either order… just couldn’t give a rat’s arse. Bound to be another person out there more worthy of the job position, surely.
As long as got a permit, it’ll be alright. 🤦♂️
This is sadly common idiocy on full display...really..? I mean...really? 😑
This abc Twitter account is definitely ran by the work experience kid
If this thing is a 'risk' to bikers why on earth would you ever let any of them them ride on the road
I’m surprised the ABC didn’t seek comment from Tony Woodford at the Nation Building Authority.
I honestly though this was an Onion article for a sec
And a whole new understanding of stupidity.
What.
