Labor leader Bill Shorten says Scott Morrison should have immediately ruled out the idea that gay people go to Hell when asked about it auspol AusVotes2019

Labor leader Bill Shorten says Scott Morrison should have immediately ruled out the idea that gay people go to Hell when asked about it.Bill Shorten has launched an attack on the PM over gay marriage."I support the law of the country and I always don't mix my religion with politics and my faith with politics," he told reporters.

"I cannot believe that the prime minister has not immediately said that gay people will not go to Hell," he told reporters in Tasmania on Tuesday."This country needs to really lift itself and the political debate and coverage needs to lift itself in the next four days.""I don't believe gay people, because they're gay, will go to Hell. I don't need a law to tell me that. I don't believe it," he said.

What a load of crap. Shorten is merely trying for the 'gotcha' moment, getting desperate as usual. It wasn't something that was said in the context of the election, it was a dumb meme put up by a footballer.

Bill's wrong, unrepentant homosexuals will be sent to hell for their rebellion against God.

Because Morrison is not a CHRISTIAN

'I support the law of the country and I always don't mix my religion with politics ...' He doesn't know how to speak and that is a blatant lie. His extreme religious beliefs are oozing throughout his absent policies.

Of course Scummo says gay people are going to go to hell. He's a professing Happy Clapper Christian, and his rule book (bible) which he lives by clearly points this out as a fact. Its a book about the middle east .. why is it his rule book is what I would ask.

Morrison's new religious freedom law will let Christians etc. freely discriminate against, intimidate, harass and vilify, LGBTI Australians...

ScoMo = Neanderthal doesn't dignify a response on any level, and sadly, it's not even surprising

He's a christian cult member, so he believes it too.

Morrison and Shorten:

I like how he takes the opportunity of “clarifying” his view on who goes to hell, to take a swing at the opposition. That is his signature move and, IMO, really trivialises both LGBTQI equality issues AND suggests the low esteem in which he actually holds members of that group.

LOL and as if an opinion from a politician on this even rates on any scale. They are basically in the roof of hell tap dancing.

Yes, he should but he is not a inspiring leader. LGBT community deserve better. All rights of an Australian citizen should be a civil not a religion decision and no government can accept a public image as Falou to set prejudice statements with no repercussions.

How do you rule out ideas about fantasy? He isn’t God.

Morrison is hoping that there is no postal voting in hell.

Do gay people believe there's hell? I don't think so. Who created hell and for which type of persons? If hell is real, I wouldn't try to know the politicians take on it.

This comes from a man (Shorten) who does not believe Hell exists. Utter stupidity and ignorance Mr Shorten. Mr Morrison will not throw pearls before swine. Best Shorten sort out his support for rogue Keating’s appalling comments about Mr Dutton. LiberalAus

As a Christian, I believe in a loving God, a God who is all love, compassion and ready to forgive us our sins. I believe God doesn’t intend for us to end up in hell, because he sent his own son Jesus to save us.

Church of the Babling Bullshitters would Not let him

Gay people might go to Middle Earth and play with Hobbits too. They are places made up in people’s imaginations!

Hell is kind of outside of the Australian jurisdiction.

He should have

Yet another of 'little billy's look over there nothing to see here ' moments

Leviticus 18:22. He's a biblical literalist, so he can't wriggle out of it.

What was Bill's position on this? Why is he trying to whip up a storm in a tea cup?

SBS :leftist mouthpiece - disgraceful biased reporting!

Who bought religion into thisit doesn’t matter what anyone believes has anyone asked what the gays believe in

His religion doesn't allow gay people so he is homophobic so of course he believes that hay people will go to hell

Theology? Really? How about some substantive policy analysis... oh, wait that would depend on either of them having substantive policy...oh well...

Maybe some do. Maybe some don't. Maybe axe murderers who happen to be gay go to hell. PS - what a silly question. ausvotes auspol

If he stays silent the aready high suicide rate for LGBTI people is likely to go up and not down Imagine if you were silent on the question should Child Abuse be reported to Police?

How is that relevant may I ask? I'm sure many LGBT people don't take things like this so seriously, this smokescreen will just hold them back. auspol

We know what the Pentecostal really believes , we also know he's a pathological liar.

there is no hell and no god its 2019 ffs

Only go to hell if you believe in hell

Why is ScottMorrisonMP under fire for holding a core belief of his church? The only difference between our PM and IzzyFolau is that Morrison believes it will lose him votes if he says what his church teaches and he believes

Child abusers go to hell

How Scott Morrison became the Liberal Party's Phil CollinsFor a man with essentially one tune to play, and nobody to accompany him, Scott Morrison's doing a transfixingly good job. Funny, I don't remember Phil Collins ousting Peter Gabriel from Genesis. Maybe you should have gone for the Yoko Ono analogy instead. 😉 He is a one man band because LNP is dysfunctional Ministers divided and incompetent Ex PMs cannot stand each other Morrison has a huge ego and this is feeding it Not falling for his spin Dishonest campaign He is leader of the Liberal National Palmer Hansen party The logic totally escapes me - the launch of the Liberal Party campaign is NOT about the Liberal Party 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣

Why Scott Morrison had to make a last-minute policy pushPolicy isn’t what politicians happen to do in their spare time – for voters it is the strongest guide to who they are. Because he still didn’t have any? Because he is finished. History. The attempt to rope in low deposit flows for low income will fail. It will drive up base prices and base loans especially when the Liberals are not going to fo anything about -ve gearing. This is a policy to have a policy and one which will somehow never be delivered
