Prime Minister Scott Morrison said a fortnightly $1500-per-worker payment would be available to businesses to pay "job-keepers" during the shutdown.The payment will be available to full-time, part-time and sole-trader workers.
Casual workers will have access to the payment if they have been with their employers for 12 months or more.
I was super excited until I read that you had to be employed by them for at least 12 months. I was 3 months into my dream job and then gone because of the virus, no lifeline for me :-(
How will you pay for this in the future-by cutting pensions, by insisting people work to 70, by further humiliating and eroding those meage unemployment payments to people you despise- these people are the curve, the undesirables Australia wishes to see die of this virus

PM pledges millions in radical Telehealth overhaul | Sky News AustraliaTelehealth, domestic violence support, and mental health services are set for a major funding boost as the economic effects of COVID-19 escalates. \n\nPrime Minister Scott Morrison on Sunday announced it would be allocated more than $1.1 billion to support Australia’s most vulnerable citizens. \n\n“We need to put more resources into supporting people who will be vulnerable and may be vulnerable, and we are putting up support in,” he said. \n\n“That will ensure that those services, whether it is MensLine or whether it is the 1800 RESPECT line, and these other types of support and others, we will get the funding they need to provide services that are so essential.”\n\nThe government will spend $669 million to provide universal Medicare-subsidised Telehealth to all Australians. \n\nHealth Minister Greg Hunt said the expansion will allow Australians to connect with GP services and mental health treatment via video conferencing. \n\n“It is about support for health and mental health, at a time of most profound and understandable stress,” he said. \n\n“Telehealth is vital for mental health and for physical health.”\n\nAn initial $74 million will be allocated for mental health support - including a campaign to boost awareness of the signs for when people should seek help. \n\nMr Morrison also announced the government would double the GP bulk billing incentive to ensure practices stay open o provide services to patients with conditions that can not be treated through Telehealth means. \n\nAn additional $150 million will be funneled into existing initiatives to combat domestic, family and sexual violence. \n\nThe government will also provide $200 million for emergency relief support for charities such as Foodbank, Salvation Army, Anglicare and more.
