The trio parted ways after Mr Slipper revealed his appearance at a scheduled conciliation conference would cost $650 — a sum one of the students repeatedly queried and ultimately did not pay after engaging an alternate barrister. "I have to check whether it is ethnically [sic] appropriate for me to do so. If it is I will and if it's not I won't."

"The board remains concerned however, that despite the practitioner apologising for his conduct in the written submissions provided to the board, when given an opportunity to appear personally to explain the conduct, he did not appear to fully accept or understand the gravity of the complaint."
