The proposal seeks to transform NSW into a six-city economy – encompassing Newcastle, Wollongong, the Central Coast and Greater Sydney.
Under the plan, Mr Perrottet will look to bring more defence and space jobs into the regions – while supporting the creation of a new subs base in Newcastle or Wollongong. The Premier will also incentivise the construction of new apartments, townhouses and boarding houses near public transport to support an influx of workers in the hopes of achieving a 25 per cent target across local government areas.
