Historic river maritime vessels are back cruising on the water after what is believed to be the longest time in history some of Australia's surviving paddle steamers were docked.During lockdowns many paddle steamer operations had to stopPaddle-steamers in South Australia and Victoria cruised along the Murray River through wars and droughts, but operators have said the coronavirus pandemic forced the vessels to a standstill for the longest time in their history.
They started the business in 1955 and passed their love for the historic boats onto the next generation of their family.Ms Kreuzer said it was an emotional moment when cruises had to wrap-up under pandemic restrictions imposed earlier this year. Executive officer Deb Alexander says the museum celebrates paddle steamers and their history interactively and encourages tourism to the town.
