Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has kicked off the debate over the impeachment of President Donald Trump, arguing the president is a clear threat to national security. It comes as the US House of Representatives begins debating an article of impeachment which accuses President Trump of "incitement of insurrection".
A vote will take place on Wednesday, which, with the Democrats holding a majority in the House and three Republicans already saying they would also vote in favour, is likely to pass. If two-thirds of the Senate votes to convict, then President Trump will be banned from holding office.
