A Qantas service from Melbourne Perth had to shut down one of its engines mid-flight.

A Qantas spokesperson said the Airbus A330-200 aircraft"experienced an issue" as it was approaching Perth. "A flight from Melbourne to Perth experienced an issue with one of its engines as it approached Perth last night," they said. "The pilots followed the procedures for this type of incident and manually shut down the engine and requested a priority landing.Passengers on board reported hearing a loud bang that one traveller originally thought was a tyre bursting.

Quantas flight QF781 had an issue and an engine had to shut down the pilot said on Arrival into Perth .. there was an inspection and he announced that they’ll be on the news for sure .. wonder what happened .. we did hear a loud noise that sounded like a burst tyreThose on board praised the crew for a smooth landing despite the engine trouble, remarking how scary the experience was. flight QF781. That landing was very smooth considering we lost an engine upon decent.
