In parts of the NT, only 14 per cent of kids go to school every day. The government hopes a new plan will change thatA new 10-year education strategy from the NT government aims to boost school attendance, especially in remote areas, and review a controversial school funding model. No closing the gap when parents can't be bothered to perform their role as a parent And why is that allowed? If parents have abrogated their responsibility to oversee their children's right to be educated then surely the NT govt should have addressed this issue long ago. Who's looking after the poor kids. What hope have they got? Not good enough by half NT. I've seen where children turn up to school, get their names marked off as attending; then leave to go rob someone's house or go off to sniff some petrol. There's no simple answer to parents who just have kids for the extra gov't money.
