Shadow Minister for Northern Australia MurrayWatt has commended Queensland Premier AnnastaciaMP for being cautious on borders, despite businesses in the state struggling with the lack of visitors.

Shadow Minister for Northern Australia Murray Watt has commended Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk for being cautious on borders, despite businesses in the state struggling with the lack of visitors. Businesses in Cairns and Townsville have raised concerns that unemployment could reach 30 per cent as the areas grapple with the prospect of international flights being grounded indefinitely.

“The most important thing is make sure we can get the economy up and running again in a safe manner,” Mr Watt told Sky News. “What we have seen over the last week in Victoria shows we haven’t beaten this virus and spikes are still possible. “In Queensland we are now entering our eighth day in a row where we haven’t had any new cases which is an incredible achievement. “I commend Premier Palaszczuk for being cautious about reopening the Queensland border.

What kind of world do we live in where a person whose job it is to keep the public informed refuses to accept talking points designed to misled the public at face value. What cunts! realDonaldTrump Yes, that is because Trump just makes so much sense. It is a real threat to them if it gets out there. Hence they have to twist it to make it something it is not in order to undermine him as they have nothing to stand on.

Daniel Andrews’ restrictions were ‘unduly harsh and unnecessary’ | Sky News AustraliaVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews has been far too consumed with corruption and factionalism within Labor to adequately respond to the growing health crisis in the state, according to Victorian Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien.\n\nVictoria has recently experienced a spike in coronavirus cases with the state recording over 100 current active cases of the virus, forcing the premier to hold off on planned easing of lockdown restrictions.\n\nPremier Andrews has confirmed a further 17 new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed across the state in the past 24 hours. \n\nMr Andrews said one was from hotel quarantine, two were associated with known outbreaks, three were the subject of routine testing and 11 were still under investigation. \n\n“There’s something very wrong in Victoria when we’ve had the harshest lockdown restrictions of any state in the country, but we’ve got the worst public health results,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News host Chris Kenny.\n\n“Daniel Andrews’ restrictions were unduly harsh and unnecessary”.\n\nThe fact there have been no recorded cases coming from golfing, fishing, or attending cafes and restaurants since the Victorian government lifted restrictions on those activities, shows premier’s attention was “focused on the wrong areas” according to the opposition leader.\n\n“We can’t afford to go back to lockdowns.\n\n“We’re going to lose more lives through mental health issues and suicide if we stay locked down”.\n\nImage: Getty\n DanielAndrewsMP michaelobrienmp LaborRabble DanielAndrewsMP michaelobrienmp “Incompetence” is the word I think you are looking for. 'Progressive fads' infiltrating schools resulting in sharp decline in performance | Sky News AustraliaMore politically correct teaching and school curriculum tainted with progressive fads has seen Australia’s educational performance drop even though spending has exponentially increased according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.\n\nIn 2015 – the last year comprehensive national funding figures are available – as a country more than $60 billion was spent on school education, a 79 per cent real increase on spending since 2000.\n\nThis equates to a 46 per cent real increase in funding per student over the same period of time, but the academic outcomes have “gone sharply backwards” Ms Credlin said.\n\nIn the 15-year period between 2003 and 2018 Australia’s international student performance ranking dropped by twelve places for reading, eighteen places for arithmetic, and seven places for science.\n\nMs Credlin said it’s not too difficult to explain the sudden drop given Australian schools are riddled with politically correct teaching, less committed teachers, and a school program tainted with “progressive fads like gender fluidity” for primary school children.\n\n“Most of them can’t even manage their times tables by heart and throw about apostrophes like they do their school bags”.\n\n“The real problem in our schools, is that ministers and premiers come and go, but the politically correct bureaucracy goes on forever”.\n\nImage: AP\n The Sky News team: More peddling of division from
