A South Australian teacher who "contributed to the sexual exploitation of children" will serve a nine-month sentence from a mattress on his mother's lounge room floor after being granted home detention. He has been sentenced to one year and three months with a non-parole period of nine monthsDylan McCrossin, 40, previously pleaded guilty to several counts of possessing child exploitation material.
During sentencing on Thursday, Judge Ian Press said police found dozens of images and videos of child exploitation material on McCrossin's laptop in June last year featuring victims under the age of 14."Child exploitation material is a serious social evil," he said. "Your offence is not a victimless crime — you had contributed to the sexual exploitation of these children."
Since his arrest, the court heard McCrossin had become socially isolated due to the "shame and embarrassment" of his offending, had beenand had been sleeping on a mattress in his mother's apartment as he prepared for a prison sentence.
So if he’s in Prison His every move is monitored... when he’s in Mums Living Room he has a clear view of all locals & Kids. He can then go online using his “Mum’s Media Devices” !! How soft the law is getting, have local families with kids been informed there’s a P$& in the area
Will he be subject to random search of his 'cell' and when he doesn't do exactly what the guards tell him, will he be beaten, stripped and blasted with a fire hose? Ahh no, he's probably related to any number of the predators in the LNPCrimeFamily
If I was his mother, he'd be in jail, not on the floor in my house. Crimes like this deserve genuine punishment, not a 'go home to mummy'.
