Help keep family & friends informed by sharing this articleAn urgent meeting of leaders from Australia, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea has been called on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Thailand, after North Korea tested yet another long-range ballistic missile.

US Vice-President Kamala Harris led the talks, and described the launch as a "brazen violation" of international law."We strongly condemn these actions, and we again call North Korea to stop further unlawful, destabilising acts.""I particularly feel for the people in the Republic of Korea and Japan, who'll be deeply concerned by these actions," he told the meeting.

"We stand with the world and indeed, with our allies, in opposing and condemning this action in the strongest possible calling for North Korea." The missile launch has overshadowed leaders' meetings at the APEC summit, with the missile landing off the coast of Japan. "We will continue to call for an end to the use of missiles," New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told the group.

COVID-19 deaths far higher among disadvantaged people and Pacific IslandersPeople from Tonga were 80 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than people born in Australia during last year's lethal Delta outbreak. Sudden deaths are also far higher in the vaccinated cohort Obesity No mention in the article that Pacific Islanders have one of the highest obesity rates in the world? And disadvantaged (aka poor people) are often the same due to varying factors including cost of healthy food. Ah but of course, must be due to the lack of vaccines.. 🤔
