Panthers star James Maloney has launched an almighty spray at veteran rugby league journalist Phil Rothfield over suggestions he’s unhappy at the club.
“I’ve never been one to worry about media talk but I’ve been made aware of some comments by Phil Rothfield over the weekend suggesting that I’m unhappy at Penrith and dirty on losing the captaincy which is complete b------,” Maloney Tweeted. Speaking on Fox Sports’ NRL 360, Rothfield promptly responded to Maloney’s call-out and defended his decision not to phone the 32-year-old before publishing the story.
