Three weeks before he was scheduled to start life as a Rabbitoh, Jai Arrow started training with South Sydney, and he quickly learnt about his new club's fierce and long-standing rivalry with the Sydney Roosters.
Arrow can't wait to run out for his new club, and he knows he only has to wait until round three to experience his first blockbuster derby."Obviously they have been the clubs who have been around since day one, and there's been a lot of hatred over the years," Arrow told"What happened with me and Teddy is in the past, I was apologetic for what I did, and I never knew he was unconscious. I apologised on the field and again after the game.
Demetriou, who is holding the Redfern fort for Bennett until the new year, and briefly worked with Arrow at the Broncos, said: "Jai has got that relentless competitiveness, that's why he's been so successful on the Origin arena, and people don't realise until you're about a third of the way into the season what an important role he'll play for the club.
Arrow has settled into Maroubra with his two dogs, Thor and Koda, and had his first taste of Sydney traffic on Thursday. Despite growing up on the Gold Coast, and now residing near one of the best-known beaches in Australia, Arrow admitted he never learned how to surf.
