Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce says his airline plans to return to pre-COVID levels of domestic flying by January, with the reopening of state borders expected to spark a rapid recovery in travel demand over summer | pwhatch ausbiz Qantas

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce says his airline plans to return to pre-COVID levels of domestic flying by January, with the reopening of state borders expected to spark a rapid recovery in travel demand over summer.

“That’s great news for domestic tourism and great news for business travel... and great news for people wanting to visit family and friends particularly over Christmas,” he said at travel group Flight Centre’s Illuminate industry conference on Thursday. “That is the difference from where we were six months ago - the larger states say they will have to live with the virus and that we are going to have to open up to get our economy going again,” he said.

“We have a real responsibility as an industry to make sure that it is irresistible, it’s absolutely irresistible to travel, so we can start pumping up the tyres of the people who have done it really tough,” she said.

Some curious research should at least make us consider the question, Liam Mannix writes. | ANALYSIS covid19 media pandemic Media has used covid to rabidly attack the Labor states while ignoring the Liberal states making the same decisions. The bias confirms we need 'truth in media' laws. That news 'services' in fact are just propaganda outlets for the Liberals and they employ bloggers not journalists Given so many articles in MSM are merely reports, or regurgitated Press releases from the Gov. is it surprising when Andrews has 110 + in his media department? When are you going to engage is some investigative journalism and enquire how Dan fell down the stairs. The average taxpayer can see a few holes in his story!
