Prime Minister Scott Morrison has accused the Labor Party of failing the COVID-19 test of "national unity" to support the nation's vaccination rollout program, claiming Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese only has "political bones" in his body. Mr Morrison claimed Labor sought to undermine the government over its lagging vaccination timeline with just 200,000 doses administered, despite promises of four million vaccinations by the end of March.
"It may be lost on the Labor Party, but when you order 3.8 million vaccines from Europe and 700,000 are able to be delivered because of the crisis in Europe; this is something the Labor Party seems to overlook." The prime minister said his government had pre-empted the possibility of supply chain vulnerabilities, and moved to establish the means of producing vaccine doses domestically for AstraZeneca via CSL.
