Only a fool would write off the PM, says retired MP Don Harwin | LindaMorrissmh

Don Harwin, the retired NSW Liberal moderate and ally of Gladys Berejiklian, has a message for the political pundits: don’t write off Scott Morrison yet.

Harwin takes his seat at the cafe at the National Arts School after his career swap. He is sporting a neat stubble beard and suit jacket with kerchief. No longer did the art school have to go cap in hand to beg for annual funding. He also helped get its liquor licence. In its 100th year, the art school’s multi-stage masterplan awaits budget approval, filed under unfinished business, along with Harwin’s plans for a CBD theatre district and the acquisition of the art deco Roxy Parramatta and Minerva theatres.

Harwin insists the spending was justified, with much of the money reallocated to smaller facilities and volunteer-run museums in regions like Lockhart, Binnaway, and Kyogle during the COVID-19 economic downturn. Harwin doesn’t own a dog and doesn’t say who or what he might be referring to. His forced resignation from cabinet in 2020 when police charged him with travelling from Sydney to his second home of Pearl Beach in breach of lockdown orders was an early warning of shifting political loyalties. He was reinstated three months later when the Director of Public Prosecutions withdrew the charge.

Harwin’s interest in politics began at the University of Sydney studying law and economics and sparring on Student Representative Council with the likes of Labor’s Anthony Albanese. He ventured into the Young Liberals movement, becoming its state president from 1988 to 1990. And, no, he says he did he know about the affair between Berejiklian and Maguire which landed both before the Independent Commission Against Corruption. “Stuuuunnnnned,” was his reaction to the news, and he takes no further questions about his friendship with Berejiklian.

LindaMorrissmh Who?

LindaMorrissmh He’s as cunning as a rat looking for a way up a drainpipe so I haven’t written him off!

LindaMorrissmh The bloke who thought lockdown was only for the masses and moved to his holiday house

LindaMorrissmh This wouldn't be the same Don Harwin who Morrison just handed a plum posting to the board of the Australian Council for the Arts for a three-year term would it. Hardly an informed, independent opinion...jobs for the boys come with a price tag...'gotta pay the piper.

LindaMorrissmh Who?

LindaMorrissmh Well he'd know...

LindaMorrissmh Of course. Especially when most of the 4th estate are absolutely terrified of a Labor government and hold the opposition to account far more than they ever do the federal liberal and national parties. They are doing everything to ensure the libs are returned.

LindaMorrissmh Only a billionaire or an idiot would vote Liberal this time. Can we have a FederalICAC now?

LindaMorrissmh More Morrison love letters

LindaMorrissmh another rorting hack, stop giving bad people a platform

LindaMorrissmh Probably going to vote labor as usual but two things stood out to me for this PM and why i think a loss is unlikely. He demonstrated he is open to change and has control of the liberal party and with the out of characteristic and arguably successful policies during the pandemic.

Liberal MP defends ‘good man’ MorrisonLiberal MP Melissa McIntosh has come to the defence of Prime Minister Scott Morrison, as she details how he helped her against “malicious attacks” by factional players. 🤮🤣🤣🤣🤣 Morrison has more integrity in his left testicle than Dan Andrews. And that’s saying something. LOL...did the liberal party just do some internal polling to find out it has a Morrison 'female voter problem'? This is so obvious Murdoch. The polling is that bad huh?
