One of the toughest events in the Olympics is coming to an end after today’s event, in a bid to boost gender equality.

With their arms swinging and hips swaying more than Peter Garrett after a few schooners, the incredible event sees the best walkers from around the world hit the road for a marathon showdown.

Purists though love the simplicity of the sport and, to be fair, the athletes taking part are absolute specimens. It is the only event on the Olympic program that has no approximate equivalent for women. Rather than add a women’s race, they will bring in an unspecified mixed-team race walking event. But the cancellation has angered Elliott Denman — a sportswriter who was a race walker for the USA team in the Melbourne Games in 1956, who is lamenting the removal of “the longest and toughest of all events”.Source:AFP

The Australians still recovering from the Beirut port explosion one year onOn 4 August 2020, Lebanon's capital was devastated by one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history. Some of the Australians who witnessed it say they, and the country they currently call home, are still struggling to recover amid a catastrophic economic crisis. It looked like a meth cloud! I hope everyone takes PTSD seriously. It is real! Anxiety might happen if you have been physically injured and have unprocessed emotional trauma. If 2/3 bouts of depression occur, you might be on lifelong meds that will affect your weight. Hugs ❤️.
