Northern Territory police say one of three people missing in central Australia for almost two weeks has been found alive.Tamra McBeath-Riley, 52, was found alive by a search team 1.5 kilometres from the vehicle the group had been driving

Superintendent Pauline Vicary said police also found the vehicle the trio were travelling in and understand the car became bogged while the group was out for a drive. The vehicle was found during an air search after a pastoralist told police they had spotted tyre tracks nearby. "As a result of that information, we were able to locate the vehicle and then from there they have followed some of the other tracks and have located her."

Tall poppy syndrome struck our brightest —but one man seemed immuneMaybe we have made our peace with the idea of success, of recognition. Or maybe Clive James was just exempt. Go out into the garden and see what a tall poppy is. A thing with a big head supported by almost nothing of substance. Yes, Australians do cut these down. But people of real talent, real achievement, not so much. It’s a conceit that Australia is alone in having a tall poppy syndrome. It’s widespread.
