The acquisition included 140,000 seeded oyster shells and 40,000 juvenile unseeded oysters, as well as various pieces of infrastructure such as farm accommodation and a hatchery. "The reason we decided to proceed with the purchase of the assets of the Ellies Pearls company [which previously ran Elizabeth Bay] is that economies of scale is a key to being successful," he said.
