A jersey worn by basketball star Michael Jordan during one of the most famous seasons in his NBA career is expected to reach up to $US5 million at auction.
On June 3, 1998 Jordan pulled on the jersey for a game against the Utah Jazz, scoring 33 points in 45 minutes in a Bulls loss. The jersey auction follows on from Sotheby's sale of Argentinian soccer legend Diego Maradona's shirt from the 1986 World Cup quarterfinal against England. It is made of a fire-resistant material known as Beta cloth that was incorporated in spacesuits in response to the fire that killed three astronauts aboard Apollo 1 in 1967, according to Sotheby's.6 of 317The collector's item from 1952 features one of baseball's most celebrated and charismatic legends, and is widely regarded as one of just a handful in near-perfect condition.The record is $9.
