Malcolm Turnbull has endorsed Emmanuel Macron's plan to confront Islamic extremism in France and says accusations the French President is veering to the right for political gain are misguided.on the outskirts of Paris this month was a painful reminder of the threat to Europe of Islamist violence but insisted Macron, a centrist, was uniquely placed to address the root causes of terror in France.

He pledged to ban homeschooling from 2021, punish local officials who let religion influence the management of public spaces, end the training of French imams outside the country and implement "anti-coup" legislation to prevent "hostile takeovers" of moderates in charge of mosques.
