A man has died and eight others have been injured after a car collided with a bus after a police chase.Emergency services were called to Mitchell Highway, about one kilometre southeast of Dubbo , at 9.15am on Saturday after reports of a crash.He is yet to be formally identified.Eight people have been taken to Dubbo Base Hospital by ambulance.The spokesperson said they were all in a stable condition but were unsure of how serious their injuries were at this stage.
Police activated lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle; when it failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated before being terminated due to safety concerns. A critical incident team from Chifley Police District will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the crash.
