SYDNEY TRAFFIC | There’s over 15km of cars banked up on Sydney’s M4 for a second day running after a truck and eight cars crashed, leaving one person dead.

Emergency services remain at the scene of the multi-vehicle pileup on the citybound lanes this morning, in which one person has died.City-bound traffic is banked back more than 15km, with motorists being diverted off the crucial route into the city.

The crash happened about 5.50am, when a truck and eight cars crashed at the Church Street off-ramp at Mays Hill.One person has died at the scene; however, at this time there are no further details about this person, or the other motorists involved. In a statement, NSW Police advised motorists to avoid the area as the M4 will be closed for some time while the emergency operation continues, and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit examine the scene.

Traffic is being diverted onto the Great Western Highway around the crash site, with the Burnett Street eastbound on-ramp also closed.It comes after a truck rolled after Traffic was banked up for about 9km after the crash on the motorway in Greystanes, which closed two lanes after 6am.
