Daily household chores have become potentially deadly tests of nerves and reflexes for this couple trying to cope with a mystery invasion of toxic death adders.

Ms Gray said her pet dog had become an expert at detecting the deadly adders.

"She's become very adept at raising our awareness and moving the snakes without getting bitten herself," Ms Gray said. As conservationists, Ms Gray and Mr Woods said they were committed to caring for all animals on the property and had not contemplated killing the death adders. Instead they relocate them."We're able to put a bag down and move them into the bag ... with a long stick or a broom.Ms Gray said such a phenomenon has never occurred at the property before and just why it was occurring was a mystery.

"They were eating the toads, the toads would poison them and the death adders would die," he explained.
