Indian warplanes have just bombed camps and launch pads in Pakistan — the first time a nuclear power has ever directly attacked another nuclear rival.

February 26, 2019 Indian police have since been mainly targeting Kashmir’s largest political-religious group, Jama’at-e-Islami. The group is dedicated to the right to self-determination for the Himalayan region, which is divided between India and Pakistan but claimed by both in its entirety. Residents fear the crackdown could be a prelude to a military strike by India against Pakistan or tinkering with Kashmir’s special status in India’s constitution.

Three rebels, a counter insurgency police officer and an army soldier were killed Sunday during a gunbattle in Kashmir, officials said, as shops and businesses shut down to protest a sweeping and ongoing crackdown against activists seeking the end of Indian rule in the disputed region. The fighting triggered large anti-India protests and clashes as hundreds of residents thronged the village of Turigam in the southern Kulgam area and barraged troopswith stones.

'Power not with them': Labor set to scrap 'unfair' home energy dealsExpensive standing offers for energy bills will be scrapped under proposed laws by the Andrews government. Good on them. I just moved & had to really push the point that I wanted a better deal. If they have to give a better deal it saves all of the negotiations. 👍 Shutting down 25% of coal in one shot gave energy companies a minting machine. Closing over 5 years which was originally planned would have taken a lot of pressure off Victorian families...State labor by the way got a $2 Billion windfall at the expense of us.
