Social commentator Prue MacSween says a new plan for Northern Territory schools which aims to boost inclusivity is a “whole pile of nonsense” and a “potentially huge danger”.
Under the plan being developed by the education department, teachers are said to be encouraged to organise non-gendered sports teams, with the draft guidelines even suggesting teachers should be banned from calling students ‘boys and girls’. “We need to rename these education departments – they’re like Marxist departments,” Ms MacSween told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“I just don’t understand how they’ve been infiltrated to this extent where they’re forcing these kinds of bizarre and very dangerous ideas onto children.”
