Premier GladysB has announced restrictions will ease, allowing up to 20 people to gather indoors and outdoors as well as the reopening of food courts across New South Wales from June 13.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced restrictions will ease, allowing up to 20 people to gather indoors and outdoors as well as the reopening of food courts across New South Wales from June 13. Premier Berejiklian said the decision was based on "science and data" that showed activity in the community was "increasing substantially" but "the number of cases presented" was not. "So long as that continues, we can continue to ease restrictions," she said.

The Premier expressed how "grateful" she was nearly 20,000 businesses had downloaded the COVIDSafe checklist which she said increased the chance of not having to "shut back down". "New South Wales is moving the fastest out of all the states, even though we had the highest number of cases," she said. "We're very keen to get jobs back into the community but we're also keen to make sure it's sustainable and longlasting.

Anti-racist protests to cost over $1 billion and prolong virus restrictions | Sky News AustraliaAdoni Media Managing Director Leisa Goddard says the “30,000 people marching through the streets of Brisbane shoulder to shoulder” probably didn’t stop to count the cost of their actions which are now being felt by struggling Australian businesses.\n\nThe Australian is reporting “Black Lives Matter protests are expected to delay the easing of COVID-19 restrictions by at least a week, potentially costing the economy more than $1bn and preventing tens of thousands of people getting back to work”. \n\nBecause of the actions of a few thousand protesters, all Australians will be forced to “play a horrible waiting game to see how many if any of those protesters are now going to test positive for COVID-19”.\n\n“While we all respect the right to protest… to do it at this time when we have businesses which have been locked down and we are only just starting to return to some sort of normality, is infuriating,' Ms Goddard told Sky News host Peter Gleeson. \n\nImage: AP Let's just declare herd immunity and get back to normal. If any protesters get the virus it's their own fault, we can't keep the lockdowns going.
