The 30-year-old man is arrested in Whitton, about 40 kilometres south of Griffith, after investigations into dozens of fires which were determined to have been deliberately lit between November to January.

A man from the NSW Rural Fire Service has been arrested for allegedly deliberately lighting grassfires in NSW's south-west.Police suspect 30 fires have been deliberately lit in Whitton in the last three monthsNSW Police began an investigation into more than 30 suspicious fires that had been lit in Whitton, about 40 kilometres south of Griffith. He was a volunteer member of the NSW RFS but has been since discharged following his arrest.

The man was taken to Griffith Police Station and charged with five counts of intentionally causing fire and being reckless as to its spread. He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Bail Court yesterday and will appear in the local court on Wednesday. It comes after a horror 2019-2020 bushfire season, which saw 5.4 million hectares of land burnt in NSW.A total of 33 people perished in what came to be known as 'Black Summer', including six Australian firefighters and three American aerial firefighters who died when their aircraft collided with terrain.

This summer, NSW has been spared the brunt of another bushfire season, however fires were raging in Western Australia earlier this month.

But the news kept telling us it was climate change, there was no arson.

NSWRFS and fire has become a big industry. Lots of people making bucks out of it. Including four or six executives on six figure salaries. They have a PR and Social Media Department. Fires are needed to justify their own existence.

The best choice I've made this year was investing in cryptocurrency and forex trading and earning from home. With the help of michealweldone1 I've been earning $26k weekly I've never regretted this decision. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I lived in a high risk bushfire area for years in tge 1980s and there were a couple of volunteers charged with starting fires back then. Other fire were started by mentally challenged people who got away from their carers.

Oh come on, thats like saying journalists make up news. (with stutter) C c.c.c. climate Ch. Ch. Cha Change started the fires right?
