NSW records single-digit rise in COVID-19 cases for first time in two weeks

New South Wales has recorded a single-digit rise in coronavirus cases, with the figure dropping below double figures for the first time in more than two weeks.Health officials said another four were locally acquired and were close contacts of known cases.

One of the cases under investigation is a student of Tangara School for Girls in Cherrybrook, north-west of Sydney.The last time the state saw fewer than 10 overnight infections was on July 24, with seven cases — six of them associated with the Thai Rock cluster in Wetherill Park.More to come.
