Investigations are under way after a Concord Hospital worker who cared for COVID-19 patients tested positive for the virus, as NSW recorded three new cases on Saturday | MWhitbourn

Investigations are under way after a Concord Hospital worker who cared for COVID-19 patients tested positive for the virus, as NSW recorded three new cases on Saturday.

"The locally acquired case worked at Concord Hospital while potentially infectious," NSW Health said."The case cared for patients with COVID-19 and further investigation is underway to identify how the infection was acquired. Contact tracing is underway." NSW Health's Dr Jeremy McAnulty said that while NSW had recorded low numbers of locally-acquired cases in recent weeks the "risk of outbreaks and resurgence of cases remains". It was likely the virus was still circulating in people with mild symptoms, he said.

A Bondi Junction house party turned into an expensive night out after NSW Police said the occupants and 24 guests would each be fined $1000 for breaching coronavirus restrictions.

'It felt empowering': The great NSW koala stoush, as viewed from rural and regional AustraliaWhile many in Macquarie Street have condemned Nationals leader John Barilaro's stance on koala habitats as plunging the Government into turmoil, supporters in regional parts of NSW say his challenge is 'empowering' for grassroots party members. Not that I think it was handled well but if the National party wants to stop loosing seats to other parties that are representing the country people, they need to start to be seen to stand up for who the represent not just be a shadow of a liberal stamp to win country votes The biggest threat to farmers is agri-business. Nationals having been backing away from family farmers for decades. This process of the redefinition of living habitat for koalas was signed off by the Nationals ages ago, until the white shoe brigade became involved. I think Australia and family farmers are the one that are getting the short shift here. Land development is not land management which is what family farmers do.Developers are not interested in land management there is no money in it for them. As for koalas we’ll kiss themgoodbye
