A security guard working at Sydney’s Marriott Hotel, one of the hotels where returned travellers are placed into quarantine, has tested positive for COVID-19. News of the case came after NSW reported nine new cases in the latest 24-hour reporting period

Of the nine cases, “four are close contacts of previously reported cases whose source is under investigation”, Dr McAnulty said.

Anyone who attended the shopping centre on Wednesday August 12 from 12pm to 12.30pm or Friday August 14 from 11am to 12pm should monitor for symptoms and get tested should symptoms develop. The cluster linked to Tangara School in Cherrybrook now stands at 26, while the Bankstown cluster is at 76, each increasing by one case.and continued the trend of single-digit daily increases reported throughout the week.Friday also marked the first time in two weeks there were no new COVID-19 cases with no known contact to confirmed cases or clusters, which are the mystery cases that concern NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant.

Can I ask why the government is still allowing travelers to enter Australia with covid19? FFS keep it out. We’re an island nation. Not that hard.

do we know if it is the same strain as the other guard? is it a second breach or the formation of a cluster related to the first breach?

WHY HASN'T GLADYS RESIGNED? HOW CAN PEOPLE EVER TRUST HER AGAIN?! auspol

Meh, who cares? After the Victoria CHO announced the overstating of death rates yesterday, it’s hardly worth worrying anymore. Positive tests and cases are 2 different things. Positive is not a diagnosis. How many of the nine have symptoms are being treated or in hospital So sad the SMH now deletes comments not aligning with their agenda.
