For the first time in almost two weeks, NSW has new locally acquired coronavirus infections, raising fears the border clock with Queensland will be reset.

After 12 days community transmission-free, NSW may be back to square one in its quest to have Queensland borders re-opened,The state has 48 hours to determine the source of new locally-transmitted coronavirus infections if there's any hope of the Queensland border reopening on 1 November.

Public health alerts have also been issued for Narellan Kmart, Penrith Homemaker Centre, Penrith Guzman y Gomez, Penrith Home Co, Westfield Parramatta and Castle Towers Shopping Centre between 2 and 5 October. "There's certainly enough reason to be concerned, but we will monitor very closely whether NSW can link those cases to existing clusters," he told reporters.
