NSW Premier’s ‘duty to whinge’ over state’s GST share: Graham Richardson

Former Labor senator Graham Richardson says it is New South Wales Premier Chris Minns’ “duty to whinge” about the state’s GST share.

Western Australia will receive $6.2 billion more GST, triggering $5.2 billion in payments to other states to ensure they are no worse off, while Victoria’s GST revenue will soar by $3.7 billion. New South Wales Premier Chris Minns has suggested Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is deliberately dudding his home state after unprecedented cuts to its GST share.“We’ve been hearing the same whinge for decades – it just goes on and on every year.

“I don’t think anyone in Sydney really feels terribly deprived because of what’s happened in a way that the money’s been distributed – I just don’t see that.”
