NSW Local Government Minister Shelley Hancock is being called on by a member of her own government to intervene in a fractured council that is in the midst of court action between the CEO and five councillors.

The Land and Environment Court granted Armidale Regional Council chief executive Susan Law an urgent interim injunction against the cohort after they tried to move a motion to have her sacked earlier this week.

"It is obvious to even the most casual observer that the elected body is fractured and split into two distinct ‘camps’ who have been unable to resolve their differences," Mr Marshall said.He said the infighting had come to a head during two recent attempts to call extraordinary council meetings to terminate Ms Law's contract, resulting in her and the council taking councillors Margaret O’Connor, Debra O’Brien, Jonathan Galletly, Dorothy Robinson, and Ian Tiley to court.

Mr Marshall said it was with a "heavy heart" that he called on Ms Hancock to have officials from the Office of Local Government begin an investigation into the conduct and governance of the council.

So the local member who promised to fight this council’s merger and then failed to do so is asking the person (or position) who executed the merger to fix the mess they made and they’re being treated like saviours. What a joke.

NSW govt reconsiders allowing pubs and clubs to reopen from tomorrow | Sky News AustraliaNew South Wales pubs and clubs will be allowed to open from tomorrow after the state government reconsidered excluding them from easing restrictions.\n\nIn an apparent backflip, Ms Berejiklian yesterday said 'it's unlikely' rules would be revised but admitted she 'didn't want to pre-empt' anything as the state government met with industry leaders to discuss each sector's capabilities and path towards reopening.\n\nFacilities will be permitted to open their doors to customers if they are a venue that serves food and must restrict sit-down patron numbers to 10.\n\n'We're working with any organisation or peak body that wants to come to us and talk about how they envision their path back,' the premier said.\n\nBars and gaming facilities were not included in the revision and would not be opening at this time.\n\nIt is estimated pubs operators lost an average of $35,000 a month since the lockdown began.\n\nImage: Getty How will 10 people in a pub work ? First in best dressed, drink or time limits per patron .... It's only the restaurants inside these facilities allowed to open nothing else and for ten people at a time.
