The New South Wales Berejiklian government have been accused of a sporting grant ‘slush fund’ as figures show the NSW government spent a majority of its allocated $33.4 million dollars on coalition-held seats ahead of last year’s state election.

This comes as the Federal coalition government and Agriculture Minister Bridget McKenzie have been embroiled in a similar controversy allegedly favouring coalition-held seats for sports grants ignoring 61 per cent of the Sports Australia's recommendations. The Daily Telegraph’s Clare Armstrong told Sky News “in an election year like NSW was [in], sports grants are [a] really easy news headline”. The Sydney Morning Herald are reporting $25 million of the $33.

GladysB Needs booting from government for life what benefits has she brought NSW as a state? Nothing but a f*ck around for the patriot's and hard working farmers/tradies etc, btw we need to cut off all business held with and for the UN what business does UN have controlling AUS!

Of course and the wealthy schools still get Federal Liberal party money while Labor electorates sit in classrooms with no sports equipment.

Libera or labor they both pork barrel, both parties are as corrupt as each other and they only become holy than thou when in opposition

Who cares!

noplaceforsheep Interesting note not one allocation for the safe Lib seat of Hawkesbury. But really, why would they bother? Blue has reigned here for 50 years, so no need.

So your only promoting this to continue the attempt by ScottyFromMarketting to throw NSWgov under the bus, as Mackenzie is gone and only a matter of time now.

WOW what a surprise, Gee this has never ever happened before by any party 😂😂😂 oh please the bureaucrats think everyone are stupid and no one knows what they are doing, come on we know the left or right of politics dont serve the people if they did then we wouldn't in this mess

Thank goodness. Traditionally, neither Party spends money in LNP seats. Libs because they think they don't need to & so prefer to impress swing seats, ALP because they know their policies won't appeal to brighter, thinking, voters.
