Here is what we know about the policy promising children thousands of dollars to start adulthood with.NSW children under the age of 10 would be given a fund for parents, carers and the government to contribute to.Every child aged 10 and under and newborn children will be given an individual NSW kids' future fund account starting this year. Then parents and carers can make contributions each year as well.

"This account will help set our kids up for life by giving them a headstart on the two most important things they need to secure their future. "Buying a home and acquiring the skills and education they need to succeed in a globally competitive and changing world." So when a child turns 18 they can access the fund to pay for the cost of university or tertiary education. It sounds like a lot of money and could blow a hole in the budget when you consider providing thousands of dollars to the millions of kids in the state."It will give a new generation the financial foundation to secure their future," he said.

NSW residents will head to the polls on Saturday, March 25 to vote and decide on the next state government.Continue reading

If you have cash to spare, the government wants to give you more cash. The rich get richer and families who struggle to pay the bills get left behind.

It is a terrible one. Lets throw the liberals in the trash

So the children of the single parent on minimal wage who can't contribute $400 per year will be further disadvantaged compared to their rich counterparts. A much fairer way would be to properly fund public education. NSWvotes

Watch the NSW govt tell TAFE students to use their fund for training…., then it will be high schools using it. The neoLiberal dream of privatised education.

Like superannuation but for kids but paid into with taxpayer and parents money.

JFC why do I have to keep paying for other people's children?

More bullshit socialism, parents should pay for their own children!

Stop giving state funds to religious private schools

What are the tax implications?

bs promise that will NEVER BE DELIVERED by NSW LIBNATS.

NSW Liberal Party promises to deliver ‘future fund’ for children if re-electedNSW Premier Dominic Perrottet announced a significant housing and education reform at the Liberal Party’s election campaign launch. Under a proposed “NSW kids future fund”, all children under 10 would be eligible for an account which would begin with a $400 contribution from the government. Families are then invited to contribute to the fund themselves, with the government offering to match the contributions up to $400 annually. Mr Perrottet claimed the fund could result in $28,000 by the time a child turns 18. No details on the potential cost of the fund have been revealed. Sounds like socialism to me. How long has it been since he took over from Gladys? This should have been done months ago if he was fair dinkum. It’s a good concept that encourages our youth to bed fiscally responsive and to save from a very young age
