NSW has recorded a new case of COVID-19 for the first time in nearly four weeks after a hotel quarantine worker tested positive.on Thursday morning that the woman worked at two Sydney hotels, one of which is a police quarantine hotel.NSW has recorded a new local case of COVID-19."We had up until 8pm to last night, we would have been saying today is a 26 day without any cases, but we now have one case. She worked at the Novotel and the Ibis at Darling Harbour.
The woman's five family members were tested overnight and all returned a negative result for the virus.

It’s time to be fastidious about quarantine workers. Work in 1 hotel, don’t work in another. Workers have 2 be confined to working 1 quarantine hotel. Could’ve been avoided.Provide transport for each shift. Expensive, but necessary.Keep track of COVID easier

Why hasn’t the federal government stepped in with a more secure form of international quarantine? The states picking up this role at the begging of the pandemic was a good early action, but surely the Federal government could have created a better system or model by now. Useless!

Like in Adelaide, the key lesson to take out of this is that anyone who works in hotel quarantine can't also be working elsewhere. And therefore need to be paid enough so they don't need to.
Hotels were not built for quarantine. Federal government must cease its inertia and build proper quarantine facilities.

So a quarantine worker who has NOT followed protocol has spread COVID into the community. The people in quarantine can't spread it outside, they're locked up. FACT: Anyone returning from OS is far better equipped to deal with COVID because we've actually lived with it.
