The New South Wales government has announced it will top up its support package for farmers affected by the mouse plague with an additional $100 million.

Primary producers will be able to claim a 50 per cent rebate of up to $10,000 for zinc phosphide bait and the scheme will be backdated to purchases made since February 1. NSW Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall told Sky News the tripling of the support was “reflective” of advice which suggests the plague “may well be still with us early into 2022”.

“We’re making this announcement today to try and get ahead of that, to ameliorate or reduce … some of those significant costs that are being borne by primary producers, in addition to the help that’s already been announced for households and small businesses in NSW”. Mr Marshall said the double strength zinc phosphide has been “readily available” for almost a month since it was approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority.

If Urban businesses were affected by a mouse plague would they get this financial support? Probably not. Meanwhile urban taxes are paying for this.

ScottMorrisonMP doesn't want to build fit for purpose quarantine and GladysB loves playing Russian Roulette with public health. She would want to build quarantine if it was in McGuire's property. ScottMorrisonMP Because Gladys the idiot does whatever he says ScottMorrisonMP Get the Tamil family out of the Christmas Island facility and back to Bilo' then use the facility for quarantine. If was good enough for those returning from China last year, it is good enough for ANY returning Aussie. At least we would get some use out of the $$$ spent on it.
