drivers are becoming frustrated as they wait for compensation from the state government over damage caused to their cars by potholes.
TFNSW data shows more than 1,000 claims for damage have been made between March and June this year as the state's roads were in their worst condition due to ongoing rain and flooding.Only 82 of those claims have been assessed as there has been a lag in investigating the claims due to the higher number of them.
"Factors such as the incident location and date as well as inspection and maintenance records are taken into consideration to determine whether there is potential liability and the claim may be accepted."A total of $11,111 has been paid out to drivers who claim that their tyres or rims were damaged by a pothole. It comes as the damage to the state's roads keeps growing.
