Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced the government is considering underwriting the upgrade of a coal-fired power plant at Lake Macquarie in NSW.

The government has considered expressions of interest from 66 energy projects and shortlisted 12 proposals for potential underwriting. The proposals include five gas projects, six pumped hydro projects, and the Lake Maquarie coal plant.

TroyBramston We already know that. Mostly because the banks have been bullied into not lending them the money. Is that not why the government need to get involved?

TroyBramston Australians sell ungodly amounts of coal to China and India (as your own people struggle) because Australia doesn’t give a f*** about their kids’ planet? Why help China and India and screw your own people?

TroyBramston I bet they would if they stop all subsidies on renewables

PaulFletcherMP As I understand Australians typically vote out governments. They don't vite them in. I feel that the coalition has made the case for their own exit
