The New South Wales Cabinet has approved half a billion dollars to spend on buying back homes in flood risk areas on the North Coast of NSW as long as the federal government matches the amount.

“We will do what we can, subject to the pretty substantial

budget constraints that we have,” Treasurer Jim Chalmers said.
