The NRLW will break new ground with a grand final rematch to be the first sporting event at Sydney’s $890 million Allianz Stadium, and Sydney Roosters star Isabelle Kelly is determined to take the chance to put women’s rugby league in the spotlight.
The move means the NRLW beat Football Australia to hosting a women’s game at the venue. The Matildas’ friendly against Canada on September 6 had been trumpeted as the first female sporting event to be played at the ground. “I’d like to thank our broadcast partners, the Sydney Roosters and Venues NSW for helping us make this is a reality.”The Roosters will launch the new NRLW season chasing their second premiership inside a calendar year.
