Regardless of what the partner says it may be a personal matter but is also not acceptable to the general community!
GondwanaLands The sport that encourages it!
How about if you’re just violent, at all?
ShaunCarter70 About that reference you wrote Todd_Greenberg Please don't google Greg and Inglis and assault all at once NRL
He’s like an economist - “judge me on the future not my past”. Can’t wait for him to move into Shorten’s mob - he’d go well there.
Gender equality
GondwanaLands How about if you are violent against people you can expect to be removed from the game.
But even now its about “We are going to protect this game at all costs!” NO! We are going to value and protect women at all costs and if some game gives us a platform to do that or leverage to enforce behaviour standards, so be it.
Yawn they won’t ban him
better late than never
These absolute statements are stupid. What’s it mean to his wife and 4 daughters if you prevent him from earning a wage. This family needs help and condemning them to poverty is not the answer.
He’s no man if he did this
Should have started years ago Todd_Greenberg
Starts now Todd_Greenberg ? You’ve been in charge long enough. This should have always been the rule. And not just violence to women but to everyone. Matthew Lodge? Hypocrisy
wow bit harsh life ban
Yes totally agree Violence against Women is not acceptable 😊😊
Why is now Todd should have been decades ago
What about a bar fight, same rules?
Why not violent to anyone, why just women?
Matthew Lodge?
The NRL will be a niche tv sport by 2040.
Should not have been a character referee for Inglis Needs to resign
Well what about Matt Lodge ? We all know what he did plus CCTV got the evidence !!
andrewdparker About time. Some real consequences.
About bloody time!
evidence
Greenberg- “it starts now, like immediately after the Scott Bolton incident!”
Unless you're Dylan Walker or Matt Lodge. Good on the Cowboys for not being as weak as wind as Puff Greenberg & the NRL have shown themselves to be.
In other news, Ben Barba to go play French Rugby...
Why not ban them for any form violence of which they are convicted? Why does it have be violence on a woman? People like this tend to only pick on people who can’t really fight back including women, men & children.
Hope the same rules apply to Jarred Haynes!
What an awful end to a talented guy. Why does rugby have a violence problem?
Should of always been the case!!!!!!!
Yep so it was alright to beat up your Mrs yesterday Todd_Greenberg
It’s started back when u were in charge of the dogs, what’s changed? Oh you have
If Todd is serious about stopping violence against woman he should ban alcohol sponsorship and advertising in the NRL as alcohol is a big part of the problem.
They knew there were DV issues in 2013, allegedly.
If it is found some player was violent against a woman last year - he is sweet. It starts now.
Any man who bashes or abuses a woman should be exposed, shamed and punished. There are no excuses and no exceptions!
Why so long ? What about your high profile players .. All should be rubbed out for life even overseas
Seriously though....
Where does that leave Jarryd Hayne?
Good move 👍🇦🇺
“But we’ll keep looking the other way to past domestic violence incidents, such as the Australian RL captain Greg Inglis” - Also Todd Greenberg
Low lifean Australian
*cough*completebullshit*coughcough*
Why has it taken this long? Also-why only women? Why not men? Why not elderly? Why not children? Why not animals? How about just “if you are violent against any human being or animal you will be banned and handed over to the police”?
'If you are violent, you can expect to be removed from the game.' said NRL CEO Todd Greenberg. FTFY Todd
Be no one left in the nrl
Nice
How about Violent to Anyone...
danawhite
At long last.
Where does self defence or provocation sit on the continuum re violence.
Violence against men though?
Dylan Walker, that is all
Zero leadership. Zero backbone
Mathew Lodge
If the game is to be cleaned up, it must apply to on and off the field incidents. Violence towards any person is unacceptable. Maybe the NRL needs to review its accountability processes when players transgress.
Aggression and alcohol, a match made in hell.
About time
For once someone has been done that meansomething
....probably should have started well before.
Todd_Greenberg What about the other DV incidents this off season, will those people be banned as well?
If only that rule applied to other workplaces - so many Australian men would be out of a job...
some people just can't be helped
Only starting now. Should have always been policy.
All that money wasted on The Gillette ad😢😢
Sounds like you have a few strikes before any decent action, especially if your half decent at NRL
Now? Ok, so THIS is the final straw? bullshit
Footballed is rule-based, ritualised violence. Most team sport are. Football is a contact sport, unlike soccer, tennis, basketball and cricket.
The problem is male footballers are trained up to commando fitness. They are trained to be very very aggressive on the field, though within limits. Football is rituatualised war - in war way back two sides would line up opposite, not with a football but with deadly weapons.
This is such a strange statement on so many levels.
Should have started a long time ago. Ridiculous!
Now ? 🙄
Domestic violence needs to be rubbed out. If he guilty of it he should be banned for good
Unless ofcourse you cover it up, like a certain someone did.
How bloody sexist is that FFS.
