On TV he’s a loveable larrikin but a confronting image of Brett Finch emerged as the ex-NRL star checked into a mental health facility. Wishing him the best.

The Fox League analyst, who is a TV regular alongside Matty Johns, was asleep and had a bloody nose on the flight,The publication reports Finch needed assistance getting off the plane with one witness saying it looked like the ex-NRL star was “scared about something”.

Reacting to the report, former NRL star Keith Galloway said on Twitter: “I hope he gets the help he needs.”Brett Finch’s nose was bleeding and he was in a troubled state on the flight to the Gold Coast.Finch has previously opened up about the mental demons he has battled since retiring from professional rugby league in 2013, admitting he has struggled to replicate the rush he got from playing the sport.

“One day I was a football player, the next day no one cares. It’s over. I struggled to get any satisfaction in life. “Someone I was seeing professionally told me to go down to Bondi Beach and watch the sunrise. So I did that and I thought, ‘Is this is it? Who gives a s***. This is nothing like playing a grand final’.”: “I struggled without footy. I was lost, got stuck in a rut and made some really poor decisions. Lucky I had great people around me who helped me get the right treatment.”

Classy. Photo leaked by his own employers. I hope he sues you pricks.

We are in your corner Champion

wish him all the best. Whoever took that photo is a disgrace

Additionally, this man is one of your media colleagues, what are you thinking? When Richard Carlton passed away on live television he was protected. Why is not the same compassion afforded to a Media Rugby League personality?

The article is fine, the decision to post the image is not. The tone of the article and the listing of places for people to reach out to if suffering mental illness does not make up for the lack of compassion in showing a man at his worst. Take the image down. Common sense.

Why is this news? Its not. This 'journalism' is part of why mental health still has a stigma in society.

“Wishing him the best” by posting a story about something very personal AND a photo of him checking into the facility?! This is nobodies business and probably took a lot of courage. Why do this to him? Beyond disgraceful.

I have recently arrived home after 3 1/2 weeks in Wyong Mental Health Unit..... I am trying to confront my demons, I hope Finchy can do the same😉

JoeEagl - seriously champ get YOURSELF into a mental health institution pronto - you seem like someone who could really benefit from some balance, perspective and a cuddle - Jesus mate!
