Nowhere man: Fitzpatrick a conspicuous absentee from Adam Goodes documentary | VinceRugari

provides a confronting, comprehensive recap of the shameful events that saw Adam Goodes booed into retirement. But there is one key figure who is conspicuous by his complete absence.

Former AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick is not featured in director Ian Darling's documentary on the Adam Goodes booing saga.. "His silence, publicly, seemed to be quite deafening. And it was difficult - we actually couldn't find any footage to add it in. It wasn't as though we were excluding him but given the nature of the film we had to work with what we had.

"Silence can play as much of a toll in the whole race debate as racial vilification," Darling said. "It's those people who don't come out who are in positions of power that can play a role and can influence people. It's that non-action that really can be as damaging. How the general public reacts is an open question, and one that will soon be answered now that the film is available to view. Darling is hopeful, but the early social media indications are not overly promising.
