Now the war is over, Scott Morrison and Daniel Andrews must talk peace | ANALYSIS auspol ausvotes2019

The Andrews government has already warned Victorians to brace for a budget of hard choices, but the equation will be even more difficult without their preferred candidate in The Lodge.Victorian Labor has taken a bluntly partisan line in its dealings with the Morrison government, hoping and probably expecting that the war of attrition would help get Bill Shorten over the line.Luis Ascui

Both spoke of wanting to work with a “real partner in Canberra” instead of a government that forever short-changed Victorians.Scott Morrison’s startling election win has given his government a new legitimacy that has prompted a quick change in tone from Premier Daniel Andrews. “Look, I’ve always had an approach that the Australian people don’t get it wrong,” he said on ABC radio on Sunday morning.“They’ve elected Mr Morrison and he should be proud of that … now he has to get on and do good things for Victoria and indeed for the nation. If he wants a partner in that, then I will do that.”

Well this is why Andrews should never have been voted in! We want a govt that can budget and budget properly ok.

He can always keep taking loans from China

He should pay back the $1million of tax payers funds he used to campaign and advertise for federal Labor. Not what state tax $$ are for.

Daniel Andrews Labor Government must now negotiate with Morrison LNP government, to pursue Federal Funding for Victoria. Now is not the time to sulk and play victim for ALP loss! - suck it up and stoically get on with the job as current Premier of Victoria!

I'll bet the budget will be interesting now the Federal election is over.

Shhhh....Don’t mention the war.

Andrews must go. He's done enough damage.

Build the east west Andrews OR your next to feel our wrath

Daniel Andrews has done more for Victoria then Morrison has ever done for Australia, he is the turd who didn’t want the banking royal commission, in case Australians have forgotten.

This guy had to go all he does is waste money!

Plenty of Federal Billions on the table for very important projects for Victoria...........Andrews instead wants the cash for the massive debt he has created over the last four years. Our budget will be very interesting indeed.

Why Scott Morrison had to make a last-minute policy pushPolicy isn’t what politicians happen to do in their spare time – for voters it is the strongest guide to who they are. Because he still didn’t have any? Because he is finished. History. The attempt to rope in low deposit flows for low income will fail. It will drive up base prices and base loans especially when the Liberals are not going to fo anything about -ve gearing. This is a policy to have a policy and one which will somehow never be delivered

Who are the biggest beneficiaries of the RBA and Scott Morrison's first home buyers' bounty?Having backed themselves into a corner, our leaders are now preparing to jettison almost every rule in the economics textbooks. Benefitting more of the foreign white European-Anglo-Christian migrant heritage community of Australians since first contact? What about the 1st home buyers from a decade ago who were rushed by the government, told to 'buy now or you'll never get in the market', who as such bought an overvalued house, whose interest rates skyrocketed then house value plunged & had to sell overpriced house at a loss? Didn’t we just go through the whole commission business into lending laws I understand ScottMorrisonMP was dead set against it. For someone who boasts himself as good for the economy this is just madness! It is cruel and selfish to play with ppl’s hopes all to “stay in power”

Morrison dangles 5pc deposit for first home buyers, before Labor matches policyThe Morrison Government and Labor agree on a plan to lower the deposit threshold for first home buyers to five per cent. Old school political election nonsense and lies this crap is Morrison dangles. 🤣🤣🤣 The LNP campaign has been long on rhetoric, fear, uncertainty and doubt, and pork-barrelling specific electorates, but very short on a policy platform. The fact is, if the LNP was seriously committed to their new policies they'd have introduced them in the past 6 years.

FOI document reveals Morrison considered changes to negative gearingThe Prime Minister expressed interest in overhauling housing tax concessions, including negative gearing, just days into his time as treasurer, according to official documents. Wow! Follows earlier story that Liberal Party LYING about negative gearing. AusVotes2019 Just trust me I’m a good Christian man pure of heart and all that 🙊🙈🙉 Not really a big story, is it? All Scomo will say is 'Of course we considered it. Then we realised it was a bad idea.' My concern is that both parties have now committed to pushing house prices up with this stupid LNP deposit policy. FML. Just when I thought process might drop.
